We are pleased to share the first materials of the project “Knowledge Space: Rebuilding with Meaning”!
The first video is already available on our YouTube channel - “Integrated planning is the key to recovery”. Fulco Treffers, a Dutch architect, urbanist, and CEO of Ro3kvit, and Oleh Drozdov, co-founder of Ro3kvit and founder of the KhSA, talk about the importance of a strategic approach to recovery.
In the video, they explain why integrated planning is a necessity for postwar Ukraine. Using the examples of a project in Kyiv Oblast and a vision for the recovery of Mariupol, they show how thoughtful planning ensures recovery that preserves, develops, and strengthens communities.
In addition to the videos, an updated online library is now available, a curated space with a selection of books, manuals, and other materials. Here you can find resources that will help you better understand the spatial dimension of transformations and dive deeper into the topic - for study, research, or professional work.
🔔This is just the beginning! The videos will be released every Tuesday and Friday, so we recommend that you subscribe to our YouTube channel and turn on reminders so that you don't miss anything.
And this Thursday, the first translated material will be published - “Provide and enable. The role of architects in post-war recovery” by Sultan Barakat, Professor at the University of York and Director of the Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies.
The project is led by UN-Habitat and funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) of the Federal Republic of Germany.
