RURI final event: proposals for the Nizhyn community

In March, the final event of the RURI programme took place, bringing together the results of six months of work by participating teams on urban design for the Nizhyn community.

Participants worked across different scales and themes — from specific interventions in public spaces to broader approaches to urban identity, heritage, and infrastructure. The focus was not only on individual projects, but on rethinking how urban development is approached and what role space plays within it.

During the final event, teams presented their proposals, followed by a discussion with invited experts and representatives of the Nizhyn community. The conversation was focused and substantive — shaped by clarifications, critique, differing perspectives, and a shared interest in how these ideas could function within a real urban context.

The event became an important moment of convergence — a chance to look at the outcomes together, relate them to the needs of the community, and open up further discussion on their potential implementation.

We thank the Lviv Cultural Hub for providing the space that made this meeting possible.
