We held a three-day workshop in Lviv for communities as part of the “Rethinking Cities 2.0” project

Three days in Lviv. Teams from different communities. Discussions, exercises, reflections, and new ideas.

This is how our first workshop within the project “Rethinking Cities 2.0” looked — dedicated to integrated development and spatial planning.

“The workshop allowed communities to look at their management approaches and strategic documents from a new perspective and to recognize the need to link goals with concrete spatial changes that always affect territory and the environment. Most valuable — participants saw how territorial changes influence their current development and worked through potential challenges that could hinder the achievement of development goals and objectives. Participants noted that teamwork and cross-sector collaboration helped them better understand challenges and ways to address them, and also gave a start to a new approach to spatial planning and community development strategies.” — Maria Smirnova, curator of the first module.

Participants highlighted that teamwork and cross-sector cooperation helped them gain a deeper understanding of challenges and solutions. This marked the beginning of a new approach to spatial planning and community development strategies.

Many thanks to Lviv Culture Hub for the hospitality and space where changes for the future of our communities are being born.

The program is organized by the Stockholm School of Economics, Stockholm University, and the urban coalition Ro3kvit, with the financial support of the Swedish Institute’s Cooperation Programme in Ukraine.
