Dnipro River Integrated Vision presented at the Lisbon Triennale 2025

This year’s theme — How Heavy is a City? — explores how urbanization impacts the environment and how we might rethink the relationship between cities and the planet. We will be featured in the Fluxes section, which focuses on global flows of energy, water, materials, and data.
The Integrated Dnipro River Vision combines spatial analysis, ecological data, and perspectives on recovery to imagine the Dnipro as a holistic system — not only a natural resource, but also a space of coexistence, memory, and future.
For this announcement, we chose an image of the Nile Delta under the impact of a 2°C sea level rise above pre-industrial levels. It is a reminder of how climate change transforms rivers and the lives around them on a global scale. The Dnipro, too, faces similar challenges, which is why it is vital to see it as part of a broader planetary system of rivers and flows.
