The City as a System project brought young people together to discuss the future of Kyiv, urban challenges, and ways to transform the spaces around them.
Sofiia Bondar took part in the City as a Comfortable Place urban hackathon. Working in teams, participants developed concepts for transforming specific locations in Kyiv, focusing on accessibility, inclusivity, safety, and the quality of public spaces.
Daryna Pasiuta joined the project’s final event, where participants discussed urban inequality, inclusivity, and how residents can influence urban planning. They also presented physical models and 3D models of urban transformations developed during the hackathon.
We’re glad to see young people not only discussing urban challenges but also proposing their own solutions. We’re happy to support initiatives like this, because meaningful change in a city begins with active community participation.
