New lecture on recovery planning under full occupation — the Hirska case
"Does it make sense to dream about the future in such conditions? We accepted this challenge and I am glad that we dared to explore opportunities even in extremely difficult circumstances. Together with the community, we have developed a methodology that can be useful for many other occupied communities," said Fulco Treffers, one of the project participants and co-founder of Ro3kvit.
In the upcoming lecture Ro3kvit team will present the results of the project “Looking at Hirska community”, a case study of a community-driven, culturally-informed approach to reconstruction that could serve as a model for other communities and regions.
Guided by the principles of rebuilding social ties, safeguarding cultural heritage, and planning for a prosperous future, the initiative was developed in collaboration with the residents and the administration to be a stepping stone for further phases of planning rebuilding.
The lecture wiil be moderated by Lilet Breddels, project manager at Ro3kvit.
